Ireland SME pension auto enrolment Q Financial has officially launched EmployersPensionHelpline.ie — a new advisory service aimed at helping small businesses across County Galway and beyond prepare for mandatory pension auto-enrolment, coming into force on September 1st, 2025.

“We’re seeing real concern from smaller employers, especially in retail, catering, and the trades,” says Claire Mannion, Client Services Director of Q Financial Advisors in Claregalway. “Most have never had to contribute to employee pensions before, and many are unsure what this means for them.”

From September, all full-time employees earning over €20,000 per year must be enrolled in a pension, with mandatory contributions from both employers and employees.

To support businesses, Q Financial has set up a dedicated advisory line and compliance check system via EmployersPensionHelpline.ie. “Our advisors can quickly assess what each employer needs to do to become compliant, avoid penalties, and make the most of available tax reliefs,” adds Lorraine Connolly, who leads the new service.

Whether you’re unsure about exemptions, costs, or how to set up a scheme, the helpline provides free, confidential advice and can arrange a quick visit to your business.
